But then again how much can a governemnt care about a group of people they're sending to die? I mean they refuse to send their kids, so what does that tell you?
But like I've said before, because of what I've heard from and seen in recordings, I have a difficult time feeling any mercy for US soliders who are mistreated and slaughtered. =\

WTF?! No! Not all soldiers are combatants, and not all of them are on regular duty. That doesn't mean they're any less of the soldier kind. They are part of the military system, and some of them perform difficult and outstanding jobs. Are you a combat soldier, that you dare speak such of those that were incapable of combat or field duty, but still give their whole doing their duty?reservists=unproffesional= cowardly people playing soldiers
And they don't need or even want your mercy. They are doing their job and duty, so you can write on internet forums, and so that I can walk to the grocery store relatively safely (I say relatively, 'cause I still live 'ere and not in Holland.I have a difficult time feeling any mercy for US soliders who are mistreated and slaughtered. =\). When they are killed, it's simply because someone else was better at their job, than they were.

"Yours is not to wonder why, yours is but to do and die" When you sign those papers you are property of the government. By joining the military you agree that you are willing to carry out orders to the best of your ability and risk your life or even give it while doing so. If every soldier was to refuse hazardous duty then there would be no military. It would cease to function.
Anyhow, I would say that it is true that the government sees American lives as being expendable. The brunt of the blame can be put on our State Department. A good example of this is Beirute ( I know I didn't spell it right) in the 80's. A barracks was blown up by a car bomb and over 200 marines were killed. There was guards on the perimeter, with UNLOADED guns! The State Department was more concerned with the guards killing a local than with their own defense. If this was the case then we had no business sending our men over there in the first place. Well, we saw the results.
Pretty bold statement there.... When was the last time you heard of a uniformed US Soldier deliberately blowing up a school bus full of children? Accidents do happen though and innocents do get killed. You cannot expect that to happen in any scenario involving the military in a populated area.Originally Posted by devilmaykickass

Don't take this as support for my government's actions, because it isn't. I question the reasons for our involvement just as much as the guy next to me. This is merely support for people who wear the uniform.
I was under the impression that you lived in Israel...I say relatively, 'cause I still live 'ere and not in Holland.

You wouldnt send a solider out into the field with a faulty M16 and say "Good Luck" would you? The US Military was going to send them into the Mouth of the lion without the proper safety measures. The Army has already stated that this unit proformed explemeary in the past. And admits the reason they werent properly equiped was because they werent thought to be heading into the attack prone Sunni triangle. So as a commander u have to make a choice blindly follow orders or make a judgement call that u dont want to put ur subordinates or urself at risk.
I personally think they made the right decision.
Did I ever say they did? And they don't need you speaking for them. I've met alot of Soliders, and they aren't all the same like you seem to think based on the context you're posting in.Originally Posted by War Angel

I can't really say I've met many American soldiers, but I know what I've posted is the general sentiment here. Oh, and for the record, I've met many, many more soldiers than you have.I've met alot of Soliders, and they aren't all the same like you seem to think based on the context you're posting in.40 percent of the friends my age are in the military, the other 50 percent were, and the other 10% are soon to be recruited, like me (with a handful of slimy dodgers.:P). 90% of the adults I know are or were soldiers. Asking someone what he did\does in the army is like asking someone over in America what kind of car they drive, or how they like their hamburger. :P
Have you met many serving soldier, who have actually seen action (either as combatants, or otherwise)? Have you spoken to, or heard high-ranking officers speak? Have you studied and understood the ins-and-outs of military doctrines? I assume not. I have.lus I was in the military so I can talk all the crap I want. How about you?
My recruitment date got postponed (AGAIN, bastards), to the 19th of December. I'll be joining the army then, to the IMIC (Israeli Military Intelligence Corps). How about you?
That was hardly necessary. I'll spank you, next time.idiots like you![]()

No, Reservists = Active Duty. The Guard and Reserves are pulling their fair share of deployments these days.Originally Posted by gokufusionss1
Yeah, the Navy is pretty hardcore man, how many deployments have you been on? What happened to your contract? Did you even finish training?Originally Posted by devilmaykickass
Wow, I haven't seen you post here in month's, Talus. He's right though. A lot of reserves and gaurds are getting deployed overseas. Don't start mentioning that crap about knowing what military life is like because you've talked to people in the Army. Talk doesn't come close to what the real experience is like. People can talk all they want but talking doesn't work because their's no way to describe what it's like. I'm active duty, almost everybody I know is in the Army and I've already been there a year. I'm getting ready to go a second year. True, the reservists have some adjusting to do once they get depolyed, and it might take them a little time to get up to speed, but it's all real. In this case you can't blame a whole system for one man's actions.

Yeah, welcome. Now we have to wait to that poor guy who had France as a name, and left because people said Bush should be killed and they didn't get bunned. Or somethin'.Welcome back, Talus.
