Thread: Iron on patches

    Default Iron on patches

This is just a general question, but I never used iron-on patches before. Has anyone used them? Are they reliable or will I have to sew it on? I'm asking this because I want to personalize my bookbag with an Australian flag, but I'm afraid it'll come off. Plus add to the fact that I'm a piss-poor sewer, it doesn't really help matters.

If you used them, how exactly do you use it? Do you place the patch over the area you want it placed and iron over top of it or iron the reverse side and quickly adhere it to the fabric?

Try stapling the flag on, or glueing it. Or taping it.

The last time we ironed a patch onto something..was a long time ago.

I think we placed the patch on the area and then put this stuff over the patch so we didn't iron directly on the patch, and then ironed it.

Except I can't remember what that stuff is called.

Just sew it on really half assed and put obscene knots in it. It'll work much better than iron-on. Give it a bit of superglue for good measure, too.
