The problem you're having is that you're using an obselete emulator. The mist cave uses a translucent layer of white on top of all the onscreen action. A lot of emulators had a hard time doing translucency effects properly until a few years ago. A lot of the SNES emulators from that time period also had a hard time with sound. Just get a new emulator. Then again, maybe you can toggle some options. With a good program, you always have to do that anyway to get the best performance.
Thanks sooo much for the advise... I'm kinda new to the whole emulator/rom use. again thank you! muchly appreciated!
OK so I downloaded a bunch of NSES ROMS and there were of course ff 2, 3, and 4 (or 4,5, and 6)... and another called Final Fantasy Mystics Quest... is it an actual game or just a game that someone with a lot of spare time decided to create. I mean this game is actually kinda final fantasy-esc... but not fully (if that makes any sense at all?). Does anyone know about this?
Heh, yeah MQ is a real game.

Master Quest is an awesome game that is highly overlooked. The only real copies of it were for the SNES. (I got it on a rom) But it is still an awesome game....

Where can I find this Mystics quest rom? Sounds neat-o

I just got it off of kazaa... it was a file that read something like 35 snes rpg roms.
Don't bother, it sucks, I'll send you my original cartridge if you want it. It was a "Final Fantasy" game created by Square USA and tagged with the name Final Fantasy in order to boost sales. It is mildly intriguing though, just not good enough for me to play more than twice.
I liked it.

It's a fun little game. Just download the rom. I personally wouldn't bother looking for the cart. You won't find it. Even SE doesn't like to acknowledge it exists.
