Hmm, touphie, well I have 2 answers....
Best of the well known and popular classes: Dragoon (lancer, dragoner, cid etc etc) very powerful and I love their armor!
MY Favorite class but most underated class: Red Mage...I absolutely love this class! Jack of all trades! Why doesnt anyone like this class?
Knight from FFI. A swordsman who can use white magic has always been my favorite. The white knight. Holy Swordsman is awesome though.

I'm going to go with fighter (and deviations thereof, like knight and what have you). Because, at the end of the day, they are the workhorse in the party.

Dragoons/Dragon Knights/Lancers are still the best, in my opinion. Summoners are next.
any class that weilds claws, lances, and/or gunblades...
i just like bladed close combat!

Both harms and both are seductive
To say which class is the best is hard, because each class can be usefull in certain situatios. But my fav's are: dragoon, blue mage, red mage and ninja
