You'd think most children are sleeping. My nephews stay up until as late as 2:00 AM most nights.

I haven't seen any nudity on Tenchi that I can recall. I'm guess that they are censored then.

Shulp, it is indeed the TV rating of 'V7'. Odd, ya?

I'm not a hardcore conservative who thinks that all kids should be blocked off at any and all nudity and risque things (Far from it, really.), but it still bugs me. I don't mind it at 4 PM during an insomnia night, but I don't think it's completly alright showing it at 11:00 PM, when kids could be up and watching. Even if it isn't up to me what kids watch.

I don't know what the commercials are like on the International Channel, but the ones that I get on E! and Comedy Central censor any parts of the female body that offend people. (The notion of body parts offending someone seems ridiculous to me, almost to the point where I was looking for different wording when typing that...) So the the barbie-doll nudity in Tenchi would be more visually descriptive than the naked woman with black boxes over their bodies. And if they did in fact censor Tenchi and remove the barbie-doll nudity I would be more offended by that than plain old nudity because it's trying to instill a sense of shame in people to the point where it's no longer okay to accept that you even have these body parts.

It reminds me of the episode of South Park where the boys are playing violent games and one of them gets a ninja star stuck in his eye, but when Cartman's penis is shown on TV, the townfolk don't even recognize the fact that the kids are acting out these ultra-violent fantasies to the point of mutilating eachother and are solely fixated on the fact that people saw a penis on TV. ("My daughter saw his... p-penis. How am I going to explain that to her?") The point is that nudity on TV should not be the first priority of people when you can flip through your TV channels and at any point see gruesome violence on at least 1 show. Not that I think even that should be censored, but it's definitely going to have some kind of an effect on people when compared to a boobie, which never, ever hurt anybody*.

While I dont care about this being on, I'd like to point a few things out.

    1. The nudity on Tenchi is Barbie-like to begin with, but when played on American tv they're given bathing suits and other things to hide their nekkidness.
    2. The Girls Gone Wild commercials dont show any breasts, but they do spend five minutes talking about 'naughty coeds', 'hot girls', and so on. It's very blatantly sexual. I know I, personally, would not want my child to be hearing such things, but of course that would me that I, personally, would need to take steps to prevent that instead of bitching about it and whatnot. I just wanted to point out that it's not the nudity that's the problem.
