FF9 generally does have a nice sound track, and that midi is the final fantasy theme, it has two, the crystal prelude and that although its not used so often now.
"NPC: Sorry this house is sealed off because of Blight"
Yes, that mid is the main Final Fantasy theme, yet it does not appear in them much anymore. It appears in 9 in the end credits. Though it is mysteriously not in FF10.
Anyway, back on topic, I didn't think that Rose of May was that hot.

Didn't you ever fall in love? Well, I guess no then. So, you don't understand what it means.Originally Posted by Old Manus

Why? Why her heart is full of sorrow? Eiko feels the same too. So, she don't wanna be alone anymore.Sigh... Alexandria is at peace again...yet my heart is full of sorrow. Why...?
Beatrix's cool but it doesn't mean she won't fall in love.
What do you think about Squall and Cloud? They're even cooler!!
It has nothing to do with Queen Branhe ... No one will care about the queen except Dagger.
Therefore, "Rose of May" means the rose about to bloom!Rose is a once blooming variety.
This means it will bloom only once a year in the late spring or early summer. (early summer = late May ~ June)![]()

And, "Loss of Me" means my heart no longer belongs to myself. It's become a part of the other's heart.

ermm... no i thinking of final fantasy eight!

Black roses
thorns sheathed with blood
and dipped in pain
White roses
petals of silk
thorns of pure gold
Both harms and both are seductive
It's quite good. Protecting My Devotion does it better though. In fact that is my favorite video game song ever.

Rose of May / Loss of Me, which I consider Beatrix's theme, is a very good song, though not the best in FFIX soundtrack, IMHO. It also has some nice arrangements, such as Sword of Doubt and Protecting My Devotion.
That song is often called the "Prologue", but since it plays both at the beginning and at the end of FF games, I think "Prologue" would be a misleading title. FFV and FFIX soundtracks call it "Final Fantasy", and FF Concert 2002 calls it "Final Fantasy Theme". This is where the song plays:Originally Posted by Old Manus
FF1 - When Light Warriors cross the bridge in the beginning (all versions) and during the ending credits (WSC and PSX only)
FF3j - When you get your first jobs from the crystal, a few notes of it also play during the ending
FF4 - Cecil and Kain leave Baron, before the final battle, during the ending
FF5, FF6, FF7, FF8, FF9 - Ending
Other FF titles - Doesn't play anywhere

chaos: I believe it also plays in the ending theme of SMRPG, or at least something like that.Originally Posted by Sephiroth1999AD
Nope, it doesn't. It's not the same but the ending theme in SMRPG is still great as well.Originally Posted by Trumpet Thief

my fave is "the place I'll return to some day" though I don't have all the tunes on me comp. it's the one that plays at the beginning when you see ther air ships over alexandria.
"Rose Of May" is definately a good tune, like many af the songs from FFIX. I especially like the rearranged versions, though, mainly "Protecting My Devotion".
My favorite songs in FFIX, though, were "You're Not Alone", "Dark Messenger", and the theme for the Black Mage Village. Don't remember it's name, though. :/
