I was playing the NES when I was four years old, so I don't remember the very first game, for sure. However, the game I have the most vivid memories of was a/the Coyote & Road Runner game for NES. I have a permanent picture of the opening screen in my head from when I was only a few years old.
It's a famous game. It was designed by Warren Robinett back in the day when games were made by one person for almost nothing. What's interesting is it's the first game to ever have an Easter Egg. Atari gave their programmers almost no freedom, so Robinett secretly hid a key somewhere in the game, which unlocked a room by the castle. Inside the room, Robinett left a message and signed his name. So far as I know, it's the birth of the video game secret.Originally Posted by Eö Telrúnya
