My first was Final Fantasy 5. Nostalgic? Oh yes, it definitely is. The best? Naw.
It doesn't quite pan out for me, since Final Fantasy IV was my first, and Final Fantasy VI is my favorite. Still, they are very, very close in my estimate. Final Fantasy VI only edges out IV as my favorite because it has my favorite character, Terra, and the absolutely saddest scene I have ever seen.
(SPOILER)I always start bawling at the ghost train scene where Cyan gets off the train, and sees his wife and kid get on it...it's just so sad. Poor Cyan...

My first FF was ff5. . . I made my friend tell me just what 'final fantasy' was about, and he sent me a pack of roms to see for myself.
It isn't my favorite, but it has a special place in my heart-- I'd definitely consider it one of the best thoughMy favorite though is probably eight. I love that thing to death.
I voted no, I first played FFX and my all time fav is FFVI, but I prefer D2 games over D3 games like FFVII upwards

Nope, but it's my second favorite. My first FF ever was FFVII, but my favorite is VI.

My first was Final Fantasy IX. That got me hooked so then I played Final Fantasy X. Then I played Final Fantasy VIII. Finally, after playing THREE, my favorite was Final Fantasy VII, my fourth.
(I will give you that Final Fantasy IX was my favorite until I was halfway through Final Fantasy VIII).
