Escutcheon and Escutcheon (II) look nothing alike. Your answer, however, is halfway right.
Escutcheon II looks just like the Gold Shield. I also think the Crystal and Diamond Shields are pretty similar in appearence (Crystal is a little darker).

I knew it was Escutcheon II and something.. I just took a guess with its original form. Like I said, I haven't played that part in some time. I'm getting there though. I'm only in Chapter 2, but I have Ramza and many non major characters quite beefed.

Not the right scene. There was no white mage in that particular bar, perhaps she was in the "Cursed Temple Nelveska" bar scene. :fpcurious
