Terrorist? Visionary? Patriot? Statesman? Thug?
I think we will find out that in the coming months depending on how the new government acts towards the whole Israel/Palestine situation.
Hopefully things get alittle better. Not that I'm downing the guy or anything, and I'm not happy he's dead, but a fresh start could be for better or worse there...definitely a big deal, his death is.
Oh and the first person I hear say "omg terrorist invovlement!" is gonna get smaked by me personally.
I like Kung-Fu.
Good riddance. Hopefully their next leader actually works for the Palestinian people, and for peace.
The Israel/Palestine situation is bad no matter what happens. As soon as anything changes, though, it gets worse. Arafat's death will lead to yet more bloodshed.
Will they appoint someone new to lead or leave it open until the elections in January?

So, he's dead. I don't think it'll change much. The Palestinian Arabs will probably select (or have someone selected, then proceed to do nothing about it for three decades) someone very similiar to him.

But mainly for peace.Yes, those two sort of contradict each other...

Anyway, as for his death, well, I can't say I liked him that much, but I do consider the fact he abandoned terrorism and tried with politics. Not like I like his politics, but you know...it's better than making planes explode.
As for my view in the situation, I see a nice fight between several Palestinian groups. And that means death. So yeah, I think things will get worse.
Hey, look on the bright side... at least they'd leave us alone. As for my view in the situation, I see a nice fight between several Palestinian groups. And that means death. So yeah, I think things will get worse.
He didn't abandon anything. He still planned and organised many bombings and other terrorist activities... it's just that he also dealt with other leaders, and 'led' the Palestinian Arabs.but I do consider the fact he abandoned terrorism and tried with politics.
Arafat had an incredible ability to lie. He was superb at it, while also being extremely double-faced. He was all smilin' and nice on the outside, talking to foreign media... and when he came back, he was all 'Allah hu akbar, kill all the Jews, take Jerusalem!!' etc etc. Of-course, for some reason, the foreign often ignored that.![]()

Mmm...to be quite frank I don't know much abpout him, but at least he publicly condemned terrorist actions. If it was just a mask, thing I have always considered very possible, I can say I have no evidence to proove such thing. There probably is evidence and stuff, but I frankly don't care much, if not I would have bothered.
it was his time , but hey who will stand in his foodsteps? thats the question.

He's been sick. I expected it to happen but maybe the new leader will be helpful.
