Picture thread ( my adventures pursuing rank 5!)

I uploaded some pictures, from each rank respectively. It was so much fun. This game isn't just about leveling up as fast as you can, you gotta have fun too. Especially fun was, when about half of higher level people were doing rank 5 in our linkshell and we formed a little alliance. this cool lv 60drk/war Tarutaru saw how much fun we were having and he joined our LS.

Rank 5 Did pictures of only the last part of rank 5. This whole thing probably took 10 hours in total for us...heh. But on the hardest part, we formed a KICKASS alliance from our Linkshell with level 40 - 60+ people and just cleared our way through to paladin AF2 and the last magicite crytals we needed to get rank 5, airship pass and 10k gil!

This game is the most fun, when you're doing missions and stuff with your linkshell members, forming alliances to kill beastmen and such. Last 3 days I've got 3 ranks. Now I wanna rank 6 and soon-to-be lv 50

I very, very rarely take screenshots. I think that my memories are the most important part of my Vana'diel experience, so I try to live in the moment and don't really think to take screenshots at those times.

These are some screenshots from when I was level 70 or so. Well, the second one. The first one is from when I was level 50 something and just got done with the Shadow Lord fight. The monk is Nhung and he or she was the leader of the group, so when we went on the airship together, he asked, "can i autofollow u ?" so I was like, "Okay," and she started following me, but when I went to my usual place, he was right behind me, and it ended up looking like that when I moved back.

Evil cactuar NM did this to 3 spanking lvl 50s in West Altepa Desert! >.< lol it hit me for 483 damage and again, I went down fast xD Didn't even get the chance to take out my sword before I had my face in the dirt lol

We we're not looking for the evil cactuar, it ran into us... we were doing Anain's DRG AF lol, trying to clear the are for the NM battle for his lance.

1) You don't need to be high-level or be drg to do rank 5. What was Wyll thinking? Other than the NMs in Beadeaux, you can solo rank 5 with a 30 whm. (I had help in Oztroja, but that's because I have bad luck with sneak/invis and I knew I'd get aggro. Helped a 54 rdm last night and me and the 35 war could easily have handled the aggro the got. Mind you, that's because I know the way through Oztroja really well. Don't even need the directions anymore, and anyways, the allakhazam directions are missing an important turn. You can get through going the south route and hitting the door with the magic levers, but it's much easier to go the north route and sneak past the bats and invis past the yagudo. (Don't misunderstand me, though...you NEED a guide in Oztroja. If you get lost, and you're not high level (thinking 60+), you're dogmeat. Lat night, the 54 rdm delevelled because we took a wrong turn and died)

2) How the hell did you use Barrage against the dragon? It's level 25 cap for rank 3 and I thought Barrage was a level 30 job ability

The barrage was before entering the cricle, just for the heck of it.

And I DO know that you can get rank 5 easily with just whm sneaking you, but why bother when it's much more fun this way? =D And our PLD needed PLD AF2 anyway from castle of Ostroja, so we had to have kickass people there.

EDIT: and that first chatbox screenie has nothing to do with ranks. :P just random.

I don't take too many screenshots as Fraps lags ffxi like crazy but here are a few from today's exciting events.

Getting ready for the level 1 death run

Running running running...and people next to me dropping like flies

39 people started the run in Bastok, only 6 of us made it to Windy =D

We went into sudden death to determine the winner and on the run back to Jeuno I DIED ;_;

Still, I got 10k for my efforts and it was oodles of fun. I would've taken more screencaps, especially of the massacre that happened in the marshland, but I was running for my life - no time to pause and take a picture
