Japanese singer Gackt was modeled after Squall, rather. And, Actress Matsu Takako was modeled after Rinoa.
BTW, he sure does look like Squall, esp 6th image! (below the larger images, 3rd from the left - I pretend that I'd only seen this picture and 4th image.) The 1st image of Gackt looks stupid!

It's simplicity itself. 2 keywords: smile & eye.
Matsu Takako - OK, their hair style's similar. But her smile's totally different. Enough! Out of my list.
Gackt - Did you notice his eye?? It grieves me, just like Squall!
Amy Lee - She looks like Ultimecia, no doubt.
PS: Hey, I don't know about them. So, it's fair to comment on them.
I guess you can't see past the asian-ness. I think the shape of the face and jaw of both guys are exactly the same and if Squall wasn't smiling that stupid smile, they'd both have that same serious look.
No, even if he were white, Gackt's face is too round. His nose also is too small.
Hmm, they should have put a picture where squall is not smiling if that is the reason they don't look alike.
For Rinoa, I always picture her as a half-asian/half-white person but I guess that's just me.

I have to agree...They should not be real people.....I think they should stay with the orginal concept of CGA like they did with Spirits Within, and what they are doing with Advent Children. I just hope that this time they add that little blerb at the end of the movies (which they did not do with TSW) like they do with the games.

Square's not really making an FF8 movie (and lets' face it, they probably never will). All we're saying is that IF FF8 had been a live-action movie rather than a game, or if it were made into one, what actors look like the characters? I mean, we're not even taking acting ability, appropriate ages, or even ability to speak English into consideration here. LOL.

I don't think Squalls clothes are tacky, but that Gackts are because Squalls aren't in pvc like his.
And I think they're tacky anyway.
