Common mistake. Don't take it seriously.
It's the same pronunciation just about, so it's no thing

Maybe it's the PAL (or german?) Version.
They changed some of the names:
Zell -> Xell
Seifer -> Cifer
Ultimecia -> Artemisia
I agree. It could be just an honest mistake. Anybody could do it.

I have that screenshot on the back of the game case. It's during the battle with Ifrit in the Fire Cavern.
umm.. Zell didn't go and fight in the fire cavern. it was just Squall and Quistis. this is confusing
and what version of Ff VIII do you have i have the American/Canadian version and there's only screen shots from the beging and from the SeeD party

Sorry, I confused myself. It was during a battle while Ifrit was being summoned. I have the PAL (UK) version.
I think it was in Japanese language or something....I mean the Zell/Xell thing...
