Squall or cloud?

Sqaull hand's down, ignore my avater while I explain.

First of all even if Cloud were to use his "Knight's of the round table" Squall can easily counter using a GF and even if the GF doesn't get summoned due to lack of speed Squall won't take damage.

Sqaull can then use Eden which can be powered up COMPLETLY OBLITERATING Cloud.
Let's just say Cloud has already put Eden out of the picture all Squall has to do is let Cloud attack him till he goes critical health and use Lionheart HOWEVER Cloud has to wait for enough damage to be done to him so Squall can just not attack Cloud therefore Cloud has no Limit.

Also Squall can use the "Restore" command brining him back to full health.

Now to be Biased: Squall would kick that girl dress wearing freak of nature "Cloud" back to the dirt hole he came from!!!.

Nah just kidding both Cloud and Squall are sound but I still say Squall would win.

It would never happen; they have no reason to fight.

In Ehgeiz, Cloud, Tifa, Sephiroth, Vincent, Yuffie, and Zack all made cameo appearances. In two player Cloud could fight against Tifa or Vincent or Yuffie or Zack . . . or Sephiroth. Sephiroth is the only whom Cloud has reason to fight and that doesn't hinder your ability to force him to beat the crap out of his closest friends.

If we're talking about just FF7 and FF8 then I think that Cloud would still kick the crap out of Squall if only because he has a better reason to fight.
If we're talking about them as a whole, including all of their cameos . . . Cloud would still win. Cloud is so much faster than Squall in KH which is why you have to focus on taking him out first. Squall is cake after that. Besides, even with Squall's gunblade as an edge in combat it wouldn't help 'cause Cloud has taken quite a few bullets during his battles in FF7.

Cloud leaps for a Braver assault and Squall tries a Rising Slash. The two can't avoid being hit by the other's attack.
Cloud rushes Squall and tries to skewer him with Clim Hazzard but is dodged and Squall attempts a (I forget that second one), but Cloud dodges that.
As Squall fires up his Blasting Zone attack, Cloud leaps into the air to perform Meteorain.
As the two stand battered and breathing heavily, a second wind drives them at each other. Squall unleashes Renzokuken which is easily outdone by Cloud's Omnislash.

ok, squall would win realistically and in the video game. think about it. why the hell would squall even bother fighting cloud? in real life, cloud would randomly come up, try and kill squall, squall would dodge whatever cloud did, and then hed pop a cap in his brain. thus, killing cloud. in the game, lion heart does about 200,000+ damage (for me) and omnislash does not.

squall would win, cuz you cannot count only the damage of the lionheart but also the damage that is dealt before that in the attack sequence that preceeds it, and if squall is in his critical he can use every turn a bloody lionheart and he would kill cloud in a pitiful 5 seconds time.

In my opinion..I'd say that Squall would win. He's a bit more intelligent..and focused...but it would be a tough match, both are good characters and fighters. (Plus, not saying this effects my opinion on who'd win..but Squall's my favorite character between the two.)

Geez, this is a stupid arguement. For one thing, you really need to specify the rules of the engagement. Are both characters using their own battle systems? Is Cloud entering with a full Limit Gauge? Is Squall able to use the Ribbon ability?

If both characters are allowed to use the full abilities allowed them in their respective games, Cloud would win. Sneak Attack-Knights of the Round, and Squall's dead (based on the way Sneak Attack and Initiative work, I think Sneak Attack would use the ability attached to it automatically before Squall could attack with Initiative). Since both characters have a max of 9999 life and can do that much damage with a single hit, the winner would be whoever goes first. Squall would have the advantage of unlimited Limit Breaks, but if he was in critical he would die before he could use one. Oh, and don't forget that Lionheart isn't guaranteed. Lionheart hits 16 times (plus the 4-8 hits of Renzokuken), while Omnislash only hits 15, but it doesn't really matter, because neither character would survive half of those hits. Cloud doesn't have Squall's infinite Limit system, but he does have 4xCut, which puts Squall's normal attack to shame. Truly, whoever got in the first hit would win, since both characters can dish out much more than they can take. So I believe that Cloud could when by proper use of the Sneak Attack materia (and even if he lost, he could make it a tie with Final Attack-Knights of the Round, or use Final Attack-Phoenix to instantly resurrect himself).

But truly? I doubt that the two would fight. Squall and Cloud would get along great. Also, since you put this in the FFVIII forum, naturally the majority of the responses will be in favor of Squall. This question has only been asked a few thousand times. Now why don't you just give it up?!

Squall has the Lionheart.
Cloud can do 7 specials with the ultimate one Omnislash.
Squall can do 4 specials with the ultimate one Lionheart.

Down to basics, Squall would mop the floor with him. (Not trying to be a Cloud hater, Sorry Cloud Fans) Still love ya, Cloud.

Cloud is faster than Squall. Plain and simple. Squall can dodge Cloud's attack and TRY to shoot him in the back of the head like some kind of pansy-ass coward, but Cloud would deflect it with his wrist armor and then slice the crap out of Squall.
The damage caused by their attacks doesn't count. When making a game to precede another, of course they'll include stronger monsters to serve more of a challenge. With stronger monsters, you need stronger attacks. Thus, Squall's attacks are only able to dish out 200,000+ damage because there are monsters that require you to dish out 200,000+ damage.
If we consider the history behind the skills and attacks of Cloud and Squall respectively, Cloud would win because he's had better training. Game damage is a forgery based on the power of the enemies within. If Cloud had made a cameo in FF8, he'd've been able to take down Ultima, Omega, Bahamut, that damn giant-spider robot, Edea, Adel, and even Ultimecia with just a few attacks. If Squall were to make a cameo in FF7, following its rules, he'd barely be able to keep up with Cloud.

I personally have no preference to Cloud. I just know he's faster. My favorite character is Zack, but I don't think he could compete with either.

Okay I voice in this I would say Usually Cloud and Squall will be argueing at each other, then a fist-Fight..Now,On the fight on cloud and squall ,I would say Cloud would. why? 1). So could Goku and Vegeta if Vegeta would quit being such a little whiner. Ever since Vegeta stopped trying to destroy the world, Goku has accepted their rivalry as being friendly instead of bitter.
Real friends push each other . . . to find their limits and remove their weaknesses and to overcome their qualms.
I think that would be the relationship Cloud and Squall would have. It's been a popular saying throughout the history of our greatest warriors, "there is no better way to express your emotions than through a good fight."

True, but there would be no "winner". They would constantly hone their skills against one another, but neither would wind up actually losing. Cloud isn't like Seifer, he wouldn't suddenly use Omnislash to bitch Squall while the two were dueling...
