I just watched it for the first time last week, and I really enjoyed it. A sequel? I'm not sure on that, but the characters were great (especially San; I can really relate to her). The most overrated character? I'm not sure. Most underrated? I'm not sure about that either, lol, but the movie was great. I knew I would enjoy it.

I love that movie. If there were to be a sequel, I think Kiah (how the hell do you spell it?!) trying to find Ashi-taka would be interesting. But thats my opinion. I would like to see what Kiah thinks of her elder brother when she finds him in love with San.

cuz she gave him her little jewel dagger so that he wouldn't forget her. and what does he do? promptly gives it away to some girl.

While I really loved the depth of Princess Mononoke, I think Miyazaki's best work was an anime entitled "Nausicaa of the valley of the wind." It's a post apocalyptic world, but people in this small isolated valley are living simply and as best they can. while the people are kind of doomed, there's the quintessential human trait constantly expressed: Hope.

I've heard that Nausicaa's going to be translated into english and released soon by Disney just like Miyazaki's other works, and personally i can't wait.

I don't think a sequel would be good, I liked the ending and I think it is fine as-is.

Of course, I thought the same for FFX and look what happened there...
