yeah it's a good game, you get a 30 day free trial period so if you dont like it you could take it back or give it ti some one else
Make sure that if you get it for someone and they like it, they're not going to mind the $12.95/month plus $1 for each Content ID (character slot) extra.
And for those who love online RPGs, it's definitely worth it. FFXI is by far the best MMO I've played yet.
