ps2 with dvd region 1 problem?

i have ordered from a site some dvds which i thought that they were gonna play on my ps2 since it plays dvds..but the problem is that then i noticed that these dvds are region 1 and don't play somewhere else except USA and Canada..
and today they arrived and i put one on it and it says "this disc cannot be played during regional restrictions"..do you know any way how i can unlock that "code" which dvd has?
