Thread: Favorite Settings?

    Default Favorite Settings?

i just wanna know which setting do you like most for Final Fantasy: middle ages, modern-day or futuristic? i like the modern-day FF games, like FF8 and i don't know if it counts, but FF7 too. so, what's your pick?

FFVIII is way, way more futuristic than FFVII.

The futuristic ones. Ofcourse they need to have some ancient, forgotten technology or magic lying around.

Esthar. The Gardens. The advanced spaceships. Lunatic Pandora. The Lunar Base, for Pete's sake.

if you go by that, then ff7 is practically medieval-- all they've got is rockets

I really don't like the medieval ones though. FF9 and FF4 in particular. 5 and 6 had quite a bit of science-- the cids working on new inventions and the like. (awesome airship and whatever he did in 6.)

That being said, I guess I prefer the futuristic ones. You can argue that ffx and x-2 are 'futuristic' because they had a height that was similar to today 1000 years ago before it was all destroyed:P So they had a little lapse, it's still in the "future". that and someone said ff8 was futuristic

    yay space.

Um no, the machina technology they had 1000 years ago by far surpasses our level of technology.

*shrugs* I was thinking of when seymour shows you the sphere of zanarkand. it's just like a busy station.

But since you say it's much beyond ours, then ffx and x-2 are all the more futuristic, proving my point

chaos: I prefer futuristic myself, but some plots that are done medieval style are great too

Rubedo: I thought Final Fantasy VII's setting was like "The disaster of the Future". It was way farther ahead in time, but it didn't use FFVIII's "perfect world, great technology". Rather, the crisis of METEOR that was going on at that time.

I have to agree with Alexander. I go with Medieval, just because I love anything medieval.

Is there a presnt day Final Fantasy?? I like IX and VIII. I dont really have a favourite setting, although I usually prefer things set in present day.
