    Default US Trade Unions

Should Trade Unions be granted more power in a democratic capitalist America ???

Trade Unions in the UK have much more power to do what they like .

Well, USA is a very capitalistic country...so it really depends on if you like how things are going over there. Of course, I believe unions should be stronger.

Trade unions? What do you mean exactly? When I hear that I think of things like NAFTA.

Trade Unions are organized bodies of ordinary workers , usually menial labourers who campaign for political representation and improvement in their working lives.

Okay...just a union then. We call them plain old unions.

They have too much ing power and need no more. They need power taken away as a matter of fact.

For every Californian union demanding $17 an hour to bag groceries, there are countless more struggling to get even basic health insurance for the workers.

Then they need to get with the bag boy union instead of the crap hole they are in.

While initially in America unions were a good thing that fought hard to guarantee rights for workers, they've grown out of hand of late. They are demanding rediculous wages and striking if they do not have their demands met, and the requirement that certain workers join a union and the requirement that they strike if the union strikes makes it difficult for people to make ends meet, as while striking they do not get any income. Unions were good, but they should be reigned in.

As far as I know, working conditions in US are poorer than those in modern European states, where unions have more power. However, I really don't know how unions act in the US, but the idea seems, at it's base, good.

They should fight for working conditions then instead of huge pay increases and huge benifits. They don't really fight for working conditions at all. Its their fault.
