heh, it doesn't matter how much me argue here, lionx is right, these games are to different to be compared. And there is no way for me to even win the debate at a FFXI site ^.^
I get bored of FFXI fast too. : )...but my friend who played WoW in Dec is already bored of it now =/ So that makes me..doubt.
So, like I said before, everything is based on opinion, so it's all a matter of playing style.
If everything in the world that is "better" than something else is based on opinion, then there is really no point to argue.
FFXI's quest system is a joke compared to WoW's. The only thing better are the missions in FFXI (yet even then, the rewards aren't that great, but probably has a more 'whole' story).Originally Posted by Misfit

Because MMOs are targeted toward different groups of people, it's all a matter of opinion. Now if it was something like Everquest vs. Everquest 2 then that would actually be something you could argue about. And maybe WoW vs. Everquest 2 because they are rivals.

personnaly, any game you have to pay monthly to play, after you bought the dam thing, is bogus (yeah, bogus). i vote neither.

After nearly 3 weeks of playing WoW, I can say that it isn't half as fun as FFXI. I wouldn't even question sticking with FFXI if it weren't for the fact that the economy is crap. =/
I don't have hours to devote to farming, I dislike partying if my gear isn't up to date, and I refuse to buy gil. Which leaves me with paying $14 a month to chat with my LS and heal newbies outside Windurst.
Woe is me.
Try playing on a non-crap server. Not every economy is like Asura's.
I can't imagine that the difference between servers would be that significant. Pandemonium seems to be about the same as Asura, haven't got a clue about any other server.
And starting over is difficult, as evidenced by Misfit's many, many failed attempts at starting a new character on Asura.

And the difference between Asura and Alexander is staggering. I've seen servers where Erase is 750k. It's 300k on Alexander. Leaping boots cost double the Alexander price on Asura, as well.
