For seasons 1 to 9, the Simpsons was an incredible show and was, at that time, one of the best things on television. However, the show became awful after season 9. The episodes after that are literally unwatchable and I feel uncomfortable watching them because they're just so unbelievably bad. The plug really needs to be pulled, it's hurting the show, seeing as how, at this rate, there will eventually be more bad episodes than good ones. The syndicated time slots used to be a refuge for those of that enjoyed the early Simpsons. However, the horrific new episodes are infecting these time slots to the point where every time I turn the show on I get an episode that makes me nauseous.
Don't read this.
Seriously, just don't.
All the time. I love the reruns.Originally Posted by CloudSquallandZidane
I've been watching the Simpsons since I was around 5, so I grew up with it. One of my favourite quotes has to be from the episode where they get snowed into the school and Principle Skinners sends out the hamster "Nibbles" to get help because he was in a ball bag. It went something like:
"Nibbles! You got help! Now chew through my ball sack!"
"... *scurries away*"
I also love the ones with Artie Zipp. And aren't the Tree House of Horror episodes great? The best has to be the one with Bart's evil twin.
They newer ones aren't that bad. Like the one where Bart finds Homer's Playdude magazines and makes a playboy mansion in his tree house is great.

Bart's evil twin which turned out to be the good twin. Heh, who would've guessed![]()

Also to note, Family Guy would have never come about had The Simpsons not paved the way. With Futurama over and The Simpsons declining, FG and South Park are now the two cartoons that give us the best insight and social commentary.
Take care all.
"Stuff about the middle seasons being the best ones etc."
Yeah, I agree, but I haven't seen very much of the current season, so I can't judge whether it is any better than the last few.

Absolutely. Bar one or two episodes, most of the recent efforts are an embarrassment to watch. With Futurama now cancelled, The Simpsons will most likely continue on until even the die-hard fans lose interest. The ideas are gone, the jokes are gone. The horse decomposed long ago, but they're still flogging away at the bones.Originally Posted by Earthworm Jim
