Thread: classic fps

    Default classic fps

I've been looking on the internet for full copies of the old Doom games and quake games figuring that they've been out so long there has to be some somewhere, and the companies who made them wouldn't mind as much since they all have new games they're pushing anyway. Does anyone know of a place I could download these games for free?

It's for the shareware version of the first DOOM. You'll want the bottom link. However, I believe it's DOS only. I'm not able to run it on WinXP.

The above link will take you to a page where you can download the shareware version of Doom 95, which is a windows port, and should run on the NT platform.

I'd also like to mention that there is a slew of modern homebrew DOOM engines out there that add features like mouselook, dynamic lighting, and much more aesthetically pleasing 3D models. A couple to look out for are JDoom, ZDoom (only adds mouselook), ZDaemon, and Doom Legacy. They can add a lot of replay value to the old game.

Thanks, but it looks like those are all just the first chapter of Doom, which I have. Maybe I'll just keep looking.

My freind lent me the disk for DooM 1, 2 and final DooM... which is nice.
