mystic quest was really good.
and I remember in some guide I read once that the hero had his hand a little farther south than the red headed girl's back while they were heading into the tower of Zuh or something. Honest! would I lie? just lookit me sig!

Lol sorry guys but I hated mystic quest. It was way too easy. And honestly, any game where you can kill the final boss with a SINGLE spell is just... ugh. I cant even talk about it anymore.
"Lava Dome" is an awesome song.
I love the game. It's very streamlined and refreshingly simple when compared to other games in the series which force you to go on 4 hour long mini games just to get half of a component of the item needed to trade for the item which will turn your magenta chocobo into a puce chocobo so that you can reach the final gateway which will give you the key item you need to access another set of minigames, all so you can get to cast Firaga and finally learn the backstory of one of your characters O.O;;;;
Plus, Benjamin (or so I hear he's called...) has the BEST "WTF is going on here?!?!?!" expression I've ever seen in a game.
To be completely honest, I haven't played it much, not even close to completed it. If someone can PM me where I can get it in english, that would be cool, I'd beat it within a week or so and come back with a report on it. I'm very objective and won't judge it based on other FF games. That is wprobably why most people don't like it. because they see the words FF and assume it must be one single style and if they don't get exactly what thay want, they say its crap.
Anyhow, I'd love to play it so I can form an opinion on it.
From what I remember (I only played a japanese version) the HP and MP was weird ansd the graphics were kiddish. But I think thats fine. Its storyline and gameplay that make games great not graphics. Really bad graphics can ruin a game though (BoF5)
I think it's a good game. It's fun, simple, and not overburdened with aforementioned miniquests. Plus, the heros has a normal name.

Yes, the hero has a normal name... but all the places have horribly idiotic names. Foresta? Fireburg? WTF was that? Granted, its a decent newbie rpg. I've never denied that. If you're just getting started its a great way to get used to the system. But... well, I guess maybe I've just outgrown it. I used to not think it was quite this horrid. Maybe I'm spoiled.

It certainly has it's faults, but the simply AMAZING boss battle tune corrects every single one of them, and then some. *boots rom, gets to boss battle, dances derliriously*
I dont have the game, nor do I plan on getting it.
