I got an idea to all of you anime haters. If you don't like it then don't watch it, if anime comes on the TV then change the channel.

Explain. The game isn't an anime, though it anime style at times. The FF anime IMHO wasn't that great to begin with anyway.

Umm... no? Square was created by the software firm Denyuûsha in 1983, and two years later began to develop games for the Famicom; and almost had declare bankruptcy until Final Fantasy was released. That is what kept them in business. Square was not an anime company. They just happened to make an anime series based on their successful franchise. I'm sorry, but your logic is off here.

Just as long as you counter any anime fanboys. It's amusing to watch.
If there's one thing I don't like, it's the fanboys/girls who think whatever's the greatest. I'm sorry, but anime is not the all-great thing. I enjoy it very much, but I can't think of it as the best. Sure, some are very beautiful, and funny, and for that, it's very enjoyable.
Final Fantasy is not anime. Quit saying that.
I don't like anime. I'm not going to attack it or the people that enjoy it. It's just not for me. And I do like Final Fantasy and I'm going to get extremely angry with anyone that tells me that it is impossible to like Final Fantasy and not like anime.
Anime has spawned a generation or two of people who think that they can learn japanese from watching it, and then live in Japan, possibly either getting a job as an anime artist/game designer, or going to Tokyo Tower and being transported into a magical anime world where they are magical Kawaii Neko Neko warriors who have to save the world with their magic sword/staff/whatever.
When in reality they'd be lucky to get a box to live in upon arriving in Japan, after they realised they won't get far calling everyone they meet "baka".
Anime is annoying, and very silly, but the people affected so much by it are even worse.
I do agree that the anime humor, while it can be rather good, is usually thrown out later on in the series to make room for more serious character development. Frankly, I like that, though I can see why people wouldn't. It's not that I'm against humor, but I do like compelling stories and character development always takes center stage for me.
Actually, the Digimon series wasn't too bad. It did have its own depth and the storyline was rather interesting at times.
I'm not an obsessive fanboy by any stretch of the imagination, but I dislike it when people who've seen Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon and Pokemon suddenly come out and say "OMF ANIME IS TEH SUXORZ!!!!!!11111"
It's a wide genre, and, with all genres, there's the good and the bad.
Why do people instantly assume that people who dislike anime haven't seen any?
I've seen a wide variety, since once upon a time I liked it because I was curious about it, then I just got plain sick of it and realised how it was nowhere near as special as people assume it to be. >___>
And for the record, I've never actually watched a whole episode of Sailor Moon or DBZ.
Some anime is cool, but sometimes it gets out of hand. Like in DBZ they are powering up and for 5 minutes you hear goku going "aaaah!!" like hes going to take a in his pants. And then he goes louder because he's constipated. "ahhhh super sayian 25!!!" "nuclear fart attack power to the 10000!!" and then you see a nuclear smoke cloud that has a power of 1000000000000000 and can kill you!!
Like I said, some of it is cool. Like robots in Gundam fighting each other, or MD Geist, and Beserk...
It may to you, but not to others. I think anime is one of the more beautiful forms of animation. I have had to put up countless Western cartoons that have had hideously deformed people, and anime was a sigh of relief from that.Originally Posted by Doors
What I don't like about anime is the looney fandom behind it, and the miniskirt frenzy on the female characters. I'm not one of those overractive viewers, but I think the whole miniskirt thing is getting VERY old, and the skirts are getting uglier, IMO.
There are anime series that I do like, but it's not something I am obsessed with. I think both sides of the argument here are taking things way too seriously, though.
Simple solution (you may want to read this a couple of times because I know the concept is very hard to understand for some people):
If you like anime...watch it.
If you do not like anime...do not watch it.
