Well, there's a difference between best sales as in the money made and the units shipped. I believe worldwide that FFVIII has shipped the most units. I can imagine that FFX has made the most money, but that's because FFX cost about $20(US) more than previous games had.

yeah i was REALLY showcked when i found out that replies were added to this thread! lol! but i hav good threads w/ lots of replies so i wouldnt care if this went out w/ out one but i was really curious to find out which one made big bucks(or most, since im sure they all did)! i heard a rumor that ff8 made the most money and i wouldnt b shocked because when i was LONG ago a non fan and i saw the game for ff8(just came out) and it looked really good which made me a fan! but X mite hav made more money but u never kno!

Domestically FF7 was the highest seller for Squaresoft. That game singlehandedly put sales of the playstation above the N64. Believe it or not Even while FF8 was out, FF7 still sold like wildfire. Also when FF7 was released for the PC it was the #1 selling PC game for 4 months.

FFX did do well, but not as well as 7.

It is based on these numbers that Square decided to create FF7: DoC. I personally feel that placing a renewed version of FF7 as a headlining game for their new PSP will dramatically boost sales more than any other salesdrive they have lined up for the PSP.
