PS2 costs about $150 USD last time I checked.
As for the laser being messed...if you are sure that is the problem, it is probably best to just get a new PSOne or a PS2.

How exactly is your laser not working? Is the power to it dead, is it misaligned, is the lens simply dirty, do you have any more specific idea?
