SPOILERS aplenty.
Sure he can. This is generally accepted as fact. There is considerably evidence to support this theory.Originally Posted by Memorylight
Yes. Laguna and Raine, as you find out in the ending, were married. Squall ended up an orphan when Raine died and Laguna was away liberating Esthar from Adel's tyranny (and eventually becoming President, making it difficult for him to leave).I mean, who is the mother, Raine?
That one's tough. The game manual states their ages as being ten years apart, but it could be a localization issue. It more likely has something to do with the aspect of time in FF8. My theory is that 27 is the age of Laguna during the time which he is a playable character (before Squall is born), while he would obviously be older by the time Squall meets him in person (Indeed, I always interpreted his appareance as middle-aged during the ending).And the difference between Squall and Lagunas age, I mean come on...
Julia is NOT Squall's mother. After their meeting in Deling City, Laguna and Julia went on with their lives. That's the end of it.And if Julia is Squalls mother, I mean,!!! Cause then Squall and Rinoa would be like half siblings, -_-....
The game states that Julia's true love went off to war, and General Caraway comforted her. Julia and General Caraway are the parents of Rinoa. Laguna and Raine are the parents of Squall.
Let's write a program:
#include < SquallAndRinoa >
int main()
{
While (Rinoa = Julia && Rinoa = General Caraway && Squall = Laguna && Squall = Raine)
{
If (Laguna != Julia && General Caraway != Raine)
Squall != Rinoa;
}
Return 0;
}
One example off the top of my head is during Disk 4 in the Ragnarok, Kiros tells Squall "Good thing you don't look like your father" (which may have prompted a "..." from Laguna - I don't remember). This is obviously Kiros dogging on his old buddy's looks. That is the most blatant example I can think of.and And if this still is true, when do you get to know this in the game?!??! (Would explain why both of them are extremly cute and good looking....)
The next time you play through the game, have it in your head that the above is true, and look for happenings throughout the course of the game that support the theory.
