Movies of 2004 and 2005

Alright, it's well known that we've just stepped in to a new year, the year of 2005 to be more specific. I bet y'all knew that

Anyway, was 2004 a good movie year for you and what do you think/hope 2005 will bring?

I loved Spiderman 2 and White Chicks from 2004. I'd say RoTK, but I think that came out JUST before 2004. The only other good one I can think of is Van Helsing which I just watched last night.

2004 really was not a good year for movies. I'm heard Artemis Fowl is gonna have a movie, a long time ago actually, but it's still not made. Maybe it was a rumor, but a lot of movie sites have it down that it's going to come out. So if it's true, I really hope an Artemis Fowl movie comes out. I can't wait for Willy Wonka either.

2004 was pretty good, but 2003 was better, in my opinion.

- Hero(even though it was already out in China for about a year before it came to the US)

- Star Wars: Episode III

- Casshern's going to show in US theaters

2004 was an ok movie year, it wasn't bad, but it just wasn't that great.

I still haven't seen a boat load of movies that I'll probably love (Kinsey, Closer, The Life Aquatic, Million Dollar Baby, etc.) but as it stands, these are my top ten movies of 2004:

1) Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
2) Finding Neverland
3) The Passion of the Christ
4) The Aviator
5) Spider-man 2
6) Sideways
7) Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
8) Kill Bill Vol. 2
9) Before Sunset
10) Garden State

Just missing the list: Napoleon Dynamite, The Incredibles, The Bourne Supremacy, Collateral.

I try my best to avoid the *real* cinematic disasters (ie: Catwomen, Garfield, Christmas with the Kranks) but I got suckered into watching these Razzie contenders:

1) Alexander
2) The Village
3) You Got Served
4) The Polar Express
5) Surviving Christmas


As for 2005...I'M SO FRIGGEN EXCITED *bounce* ^_^

1) Kingdom of Heaven (Ridley Scott with a new epic? HELL YES!)
2) Sin City (The cast is just unbelievable, and the trailer blew me away)
3) Elizabethtown (Cameron Crowe + Orlando Bloom = )
4) Memoirs of a Geisha (Adored the book, love the cast for the movie)
5) King Kong (PETER JACKSON, need I say more?)
6) Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
7) Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
8) The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe
9) The War of the Worlds (a movie Spielberg was born to make)
10) The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (All the conceptual art I've seen so far indicate very good things for this movie)

Then of course there's The New World, Batman Begins, The Brothers Grimm, Bewitched, Oliver Twist, The Constant Gardener, Star Wars Ep. III, The Lords of Dogtown, Cindrella Man, and The Corpse Bride.

2004's flicks were just like the flicks of any other year. Some were really good, others were blah, while the rest didn't look at that good. Just going by trailers or posters; I don't movie-go very often.

I didn't see a lot of movies this year. Return of the King was a 2003 movie, by the way.

Kill Bill Vol. 2, Spider Man 2, and Harry Potter might be the only ones I went to see in a theater. I rented loads more but few stand out in my mind.

Eh. I thought 2004 was a pretty lame year for movies. There were the really good ones Like ROTK, The Incredibles, Napolean Dynamite...I know there's a few more, but I can't think of them at the present. I've been getting less and less into movies anyways---I'd rather read a good book than watch a good movie. *shrug* And that's what I have been doing, it seems. Cheers.

2004 was...meh. There were films I really liked, like "Meet The Fockers", "The Grudge" and "Kill Bill Vol. 2", but then there were some really lousy movies too.

There just wasn't anything too amazing at the box office this year, unlike last year when we had "Return of the King".

Last year actually wasn't that great for movies. We had some good entertaining films (Spidey 2, I-Robot, Incredibles), but no real 'Best Picture' quality ones... I guess Aviator and Hotel Rwanda seem to be good contenders, but that's about it. This year was more the year of the big budget sequels and action flicks, which is fine by me since I love those movies, but yea... nothing really top top caliber.

This year, there are some movies I'm really looking forward to.. namely Batman Begins and Sin City.
