Thread: NASA discovers Asteroid

    Default NASA discovers Asteroid

    Read about it here.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004_MN4

Well, I checked it today, and it updated saying it most likely won't hit in 2029, but maybe in the 2050s.

Did any of you hear about the asteroid when it was higher on the Torino scale? Were any of you worried?

If you thought the earthquake was huge, this asteroid would have been much bigger. But I don't think we needed to get out Holy and Lifestream if it was going to hit us (FFVII).

I was personally rooting for the asteroid to hit the planet, b/c it would be cool to see that. But I wouldn't want too many people to die. I would have liked to have been watching the news to see what NASA would do to handle it.

Didn't they say an asteroid would hit after Armageddon came out? You know what this means....

    Armageddon is making a sequal!

Nah, but seriously, I'm not worried.

I doubt this big time. Last thing I read about where something was going to hit the earth was later claimed false a day later. It turns out that the comet would miss us by a mear light year....A WHOLE LIGHT YEAR. NASA just needs money so they do stuff like this to help increase funds...or thats what it most likely is.

Man, the risk keeps getting lower and lower.

Well, it's still not zero, so they should still keep an eye on it and be ready to do something if it goes up again, or somehow manages to hit us. People do win the lottery.

If it happens, it happens. There isnt a thing we can do if it does. So I'm not worried. Besides, we get a "OMFG GIANT ASTEROID" scare every few years or so, and nothing ever comes of it.

The Earth being destroyed wouldn't help matters because the universe would still exist.

No, it's not as bad as the dinosaurs, they were saying, but it would take a big chunk of the Planet. We wouldn't go extinct; in fact it's small enough we could probably be able to destroy the asteroid or something.

I've always believed in the power of the human mind. I figure that in forty years or so we'll have destroyed it if it is really that big of a problem.

If they could get it to miss earth by a few hundred miles that would make one hell of a wave. *gets a surfboard*

I never understood why people worry about this kind of stuff. If it happens, it happens. Theres nothing you can do to stop it so why obssess over it?
