I dont see America helping often unless its in there own intrests, such as very high pollution and refusing to cut down out of greed. anyway, if democracy is the voice of the people, and you voted in bush to be that voice then in theory he is america and speaking for all of it, a small floor if you will.
A superpower has responsibilites as well as privilge, and its time the U.S government learned this...

Sure America might not have to best government in the world, but there are worse ones around. I don't think any government in the world could be considered perfect.
Consider the big picture. Don't just pick out a couple of things about America that you don't like, have a look at the whole of it and then see if you think they have the worst government in the world.
Whenever your country needs help how about we say "oh well we don't feel like halping you" and just blow you off. Then will you be happy? No. You'll bitch about how mean we are for not helping you.

There's a lot of things that bug me about the Bush administration. Probably what bugs me most as of this moment, though, is how he calls a 51%/49% vote not a narrow victory, not a deeply divided country, but a mandate. I'm amazed at his idiocy that the (well known) fact that the majority of people who voted Kerry did so not because they actually supported him, but because he was "not Bush", does not scream volumes at him.
Anyway, I have to admit that even though it's got it's problems, the US government is a fairly good one. We're just stuck with the worst president in its history for close to a decade. America has done a lot of good (and bad too, but still a lot of good) in the last century - if it wasn't for america, Hitler'd probably be running the world right now.

No, what you mean is the current administration. You said yourself that all you really want is an intelligent administration. In fact, you haven't really knocked the technical aspects of the US Government at all, which I believed was your original intention.
So... clarify. Do you dislike the American Government system (Three branches of government, checks and balances, representative democracy) or do you dislike the current holders of power in the system?

Wow, looks like the government is doing a pretty damn good job to me! America also happens to be one of the richest countries in the world, so they gotta be doing SOMETHING right. You forget that a government is supposed to look out for number one FIRST. Some governments can't even do that and sometimes America even sends troops to help them!
