Rinoa may not even exist to the KH Squall, so that has little to do with it. KH is completly it's own story.

I don't see much behind Yuffie's teasing with Leon (Squall is dead to him at this point). I see their interaction as a more friend base. But who knows, they didn't really give Yuffie much camera time, especially interacting with Leon. It's a possibility!

Plus I'm a Squall/Leon/Rinoa fan. I would be happy if she came into KHII just to put him back into shape.

I think it's when you talk to them after Donald and Goofy join your team, and Squall tells you about the Dalmations. It's an optional scene, but it's the only thing I can think of that would serve as a basis for this rumor.

I think that Rinoa was a citizen of Hollow Bastion and died when the Heartless attacked, i've just decided to play throuh KH again and at the start when Sora mentions his friends once or twice Leon flinches. May he changed his name because he couldn't save her.


And I think Yuffie is just being friendly.

It's possible that Rinoa was living in Hollow Bastion, but not neccesary, especially since we dont see her with Leon at the end, when the citizens of Hollow Bastion are reunited. Also, the fact that Selphie lives on Destiny Islands... Rinoa could be on a whole different world, or not exist at all. There were a lot of people at Hollow Bastion no doubt, maybe innocent people Leon failed to protect.
