I think Cloud and Aeris make the best couple. I mean, in Final Fantasy VII. The best couples are in anime and manga, well my favorite couples are in the anime and manga. My favorite couples are couples that are together for a long time and have lots of hugs and kisses and are together for a long time during the series with lots of romance and are boyfriend and girlfriend for a very long time. I have played every Final Fantasy game and I love them all. Every Final Fantasy game is wonderful, both the 2d ones and 3d ones. Anime and manga couples are my favorite though. But! I'm off topic. The topic at hand is Final Fantasy VII. I think Cloud loves Aeris. Cloud and Aerith make a great couple and Aeris helps bring out Cloud's personality. Aeris's cheerfulness helps out Cloud. Aerith is perfect for Cloud. Aeris is the only person Cloud can feel relaxed around. Aeris is the one who changed Cloud. Before Aeris met Cloud she was lonely and he brought joy into her life. She had someone to care for. Before Cloud met Aeris he was lonely too, and she was the first person who appreciated Cloud. Cloud enjoys himself a lot more when he's with Aeris. He feels really good around her and she helps him out a lot. That is why Cloud and Aeris belong together.

Cloud manages to relax around most of the party, really. And before Cloud, Aeris had Zack. She never says she was lonely or miserable without him around. And before Cloud met Aeris, he was far more messed up than simply being lonely.
Of course, people will interpret things how they wish.
I always thought that Aeris liked Cloud only because he looked like Jack..
