Tifa DID stayed with Cloud when he got poisoned. She stayed at his side when he was trying to recall his memory, and she fought with him to the very end. That's a true friend. in the ending when cloud catches Tifa before she falls into the Lifestream he says 'Lets Go see her'. Tifa then closes her eyes and agrees, it looks like she is giving up on her and cloud having a future because he is still in love with Aeris.

As much as I love Aeris (I'd take her in a heartbeat if it wasn't for the whole part where she's a videogame character), Tifa is the better choice for *Cloud*. His and Aeris' thing, whatever it was, was hardly a healthy relationship... she wanted him because she was still on the rebound... and he really didn't fall for her until she died saving the planet... not a good foundation for romance.

Anyways, I think the ending (and the rest of the story, for that matter) was very ambiguious, and that's cool that it is. People talk about FFVII and bring out new ideas and theories 8 years later. I personally do not understand what anima alluded to, but they'll probably elaborate on that in AC. (SPOILER)I just always thought of that action by Tifa to just expressing tenderness and love for him. Like she's holding on to him, so she might as well like hug him or something.

I believe Aeris is better for Cloud because she's a sweetheart. I love both Aeris and Tifa, but Aeris has that innocent aura to her. She's a girl who needs a man like Cloud to protect and take care of her, not to mention a total cutie *^^*
