Thread: Revote Washington

  1. #1

    Default Revote Washington State.

I know online petitions mean next to nothing, but it couldn't hurt. Regardless of who you voted for, everyone should agree that a revote in now necessary. This state should not have a govenor in the capitol who won after two highly contested recounts, especially with all the evidence now of the wrong doing that went on during those recounts, dead people don't usually vote. Lets not also forget the military personal over seas who've never got the chance to vote. This whole election has just been a disaster and now a revote is the only solution.

This has to do with the Governors race, not Presidential race.

From slightly more than half of the American population to you: Screw off.

Sorry to flame, but that kind of irrational flame against somebody whom I respect is insulting to me as well.

That's not true. They get to vote with a thing called an absentee ballot.

Oh my bad I forgot to say, their votes werent counted because the absentee ballots didnt meet the deadline. I just think its unfair after 2 recounts Rossi won, and then a hand recount in only one county? And they didnt include those military ballots. :rolleyes2 I dont know being a pessimist right now, I just think we wont get a re-vote because the senate majority, or even the majority in the house in Washington state are Democrates.

I also love how the Republicans didn't support the revote until after the most in-depth recount was taken and showed Gregoire as having won, and how they tried to block ballots from being counted because they had been lost, through no fault of the voters, and thus had not been counted in the election, effectively disenfranchizing those who had cast their ballot.

In any event, I supported a revote from the start of this entire mess, I'm disgusted with both camps and how they've treated this and while I dislike both of the candidates immensely, I support it if for no other reason than to get everyone else to shut up and go about their lives.

And for the record, besides you, me, CloudSquallZidane, and maybe a few others who post here who live in Washington, nobody on this board is likely to care.

I don't live in Washington, but I think you need a revote. Who won by the way? Was it the Republican or the Democrat? I wouldn't want to give the Republican a second chance, but a revote is still the right thing to do.

Initially the calculation came in as Dino Rossi (R) ahead by a handful of votes. The first two recounts, as I understand, showed a victory for him, also by a narrow margin, and the final recount (the most in-depth of all recounts, and the final recount permitted in an election) showed a victory for Christine Gregoire (D). The Republicans are now up in arms, while the Democrats have claimed victory. The Republicans have made many claims as to how Gregoire "stole" the election, but I would like to point out that Gregoire DEMANDED a full and complete recount of all ballots. If that were not to be granted, she would concede to Dino Rossi. Such a recount was granted, and it turned out a victory for her.

EDIT: By "narrow margin" I mean "less than 100 votes".

IF any of the things that revotewa says are true, then the WA supreme Court will have no choice, but to hold a revote or bar those votes that were fraud.

Which is why i beileve that revotewa is garbage and a republican ploy or else they'd go straight to the courts with the evidence and a petition wouldnt matter/be nessecary.

    And i live in Washington.

Unless the republican party is willing to 100% a revote(just like the dems fully funded both recounts) then tough . It is going to cost an insane amount to have a revote and it probably would not get off the ground until april or march at the earliest.

Either way, it was too damn close and if there is a revote then you can bet there will be tons more people voting this next time around.

I agree with them only doing that one county the second time. It would be like doing cook county here in chicago. That is all of chicago and a lot of of suburbs. You are talking millions of votes right there or the majority of votes. Focus in on those if it supports your canidate. You are paying for it so why not.

I voted for Bush, but I do not share your view. He said he hated Bush, so what? That's not a flame directed at you. Telling him to "screw off" is not tolerated. You've been banned from these forums before, don't make me do it again.
