Omnislash did WAY more damage and IMO looked cooler (not by much, I give Squall that credit).

Omnislash did do indeed more damage then Lionheart. And Omnislash is a Limit break that you can always get. You just have to cross your fingers and hope you get Lion heart. And not one of those other crappy spells.

I vote for Lionheart because it's connected with Renzokuken, which I am a big, big fan of.
Lionheart will do more damage than Omnislash, but it's down to luck if you get it.
Omnislash is a guaranteed 15 hit's. Lionheart if you get it as a finishing move is 17 hit's.

Lion Heart is stronger, though it's not as reliable as Omnislash. With Omnislash, you'll get 15 hits, each dealing about 5000-9999 damage. With Lion Heart, you'll not only get 5-7 hits of Renzokuken first, but quite many (I can't remember whether it was 17 or 20) hits after that, every hit doing 9999 damage. However, Omnislash looks better, especially during (SPOILER)Cloud and Sephiroth's final duel, when the camera zooms between their eyes while Cloud is doing the final cut. As for which one's longer, I think Lion Heart is.

In FFVIII you can do a limmitbreaks everyturn and therefore do Lionheart 7 times before you would do 1 Omnislash in FFVII + lionheart is more powerfull. However... I like omnislsh more since it's NOT as overpowered as Lionheart. But I voted Lionheart since the question is which one that's "better" and Lionheart is.

you're right. the only trouble i had in getting the weapon is that Ruby Dragon. it's all worth it though. i just like everything 'bout it.
Lionheart does 18 hits after a possible 8 hit Renzokuken, for a total of 26, possibly 9999 each. This requires a lot of luck. All you have to do is be in yellow HP/Aura to use it. You must get the Lionheart gunblade.
Omnislash does 15 hits. It always happens. You need to obtain 32000 BP in the Battle Arena and get all of Cloud's other limits (which isn't that difficult for Cloud) to use this. Your limit gauge must be full. The Level 4 Limit Gauge can take a while to fill up. If you are facing multiple enemies, you can't control where the hits will occur.
My vote goes to Lionheart.
