World opinion of Britain

I'm still proud to be British. Britain is the 4th biggest economy in the world, and when you consider the top 3 economies in the world (US, Japan, China) have populations a lot bigger than Britian, you can see how powerful we are.

And many of you are not gonna like this statement but if we didn't hold back the Germans, they would of not only taken over all of Europe, they would of concentrated on Russia, defeated them (because they would of invaded before the cold Siberian winter), then they would have made Japan their little milirtary puppet, and who knows where they could of gone from their? They probably would of defeated North Africa, Asian islands that Japan occupied, and you never know, without Allied help, they could of successfully invaded a little country I like to call the USA.

All that is enough to make me proud to be British.

1 pound a year, its not that much at all. I hate the sterotype where we all have those accents, NOBODY speaks like that!
Besides if the monarchy are evil racist nazi's how many small middle east countries have they decemated recently?

I'll be honest, I'm not happy with Britain at the moment. I feel that they hate Americans. I feel the same way about Canada and the rest of Europe. I'm not being racist (please don't think I am, I'm not, please). I'm just very hurt. People can have their say about our government, but I wish they would stop blaming the citizens themselves. I wish we would all stop fighting.

Apparently a lot of people here aren't even aware of the matter of Harry's incredible historical ignorance.

Not that its been splashed over every newspaper for the last few days over here, but in reality I don't see why he should have to make a second public apology, firstly hes German anyway so he has the right to do that, but mainly he was drunk when he picked the costume and it was a last minute thing, I think the public apology he gave was good enough and now the royal family can deal with it privitly and probably hang him, but they don't need every single person telling them what to do really.

Being German does not make you a Nazi. Nazism had nothing to do with Germany itself, it was just a political party. Also, do you really believe he picked it when he was drunk, or whether it was just a cover-up spouted by the Palace's press office?

Britain does not hate America. The people here consider Americans to be stupid, as a stereotype, but this is no worse than Americans considering British people to drink tea and have the accents that they are portrayed to have in the media.

England has a very rich and storied history, but lately I feel as if they've begun to willingly take a backseat to the USA. I actually forsee the USA ending up much like England did, as a superpower who eventually stretched itself too thin. All in all, I still have a very high opinion of England as they've managed to remain among the most prominent nations, mostly peacefully, in the world despite having to give up much of their strangehold on the world. Yet lately, I feel the world needs England and other countries to stand up to the US government and keep our government in check more.

I think their accents are cool...my friend hates all British people for some reason or another though...well, just about all Europeans in general...or so he says, but I doubt he does, he just enjoys pissing me off.

Anyways, all joking aside, many Americans like the English, though the comments about Blair do seem to be prevalent here as well. America enjoys many things from England, such as Harry Potter, for example, and they are rather staunch allies of America, so I'd say we get along well with them.

On another note i am having a problem with a british friend saying everything American people see and believe in being not well informed enough just because its in america, its true to an extent but he is taking it too far and just is prejudiced(which is kinda understandable, every country does not like america for the most part). But alot of em on BBSs have been doing that lately -_-; So meh they are fine, i just wish some would be more respectful =/
