It's fake.

The Hobbit hasn't been filmed and will not be filmed until all the legal copyright business is taken care of. New Line Cinema owns the rights to produce the movies, but MGM has the rights to distribute the films. Unless these two studios come to some sort of agreement, there won't be a Hobbit movie any time in the near future.

Even if all the legal stuff were figured out in the next few months, with King Kong and The Lovely Bones on his plate, there's no way Peter Jackson could direct and finish The Hobbit by December 2006.
