Post Why I love Final Fantasy VII.

I just read the "why do so many people hate this game?" thread, and I have something to say about this (even though I should probably just reply to that thread. Final Fantasy VII was the first RPG game I ever played (there went half of the readers "not another one...") Yes, this was the first RPG I ever played but I also have every final fantasy game (except for Chronicles and Anthology which I have been looking for.) I also have Kingdom Hearts and Star Ocean: Till the End of Time. And I must say that Final Fantasy VII is the closest to my heart. Not because it was the first RPG I ever played (although that is still special to me) the main reasons I love this game are~

    1. The Characters
    2. The Story
    3. The Music
    4. Game Play

First of all the character seem perfectly named and are in most cases very interesting with a great back story.
    P.S. I am a writer
The Story is full of plot twist and turns plenty of emotional moments. *I'll keep spoilers out of this*
The music!!! All I have to say is Sephiroth's Theme! I like this more than any other music I have EVER listened to whether in a game or by a group or singer. I even hold this above Dir en Grey and the Saiyuki end theme "Tightrope." There are also plenty of other great musical scores.
The Game play~ now I really wasn't accurate on that I meant the variaty in spells, Limit Breaks, and all the wonderful summons (in all my times through I still have never got the Zero Bahamut and Alexander even though I know how to get them, but when I get there I forget till at least the next time I save Arrghh!!
Anyway, the only thing I think anyone would find disappoint in the game is maybe the ending didn't live up to there standards. (Can't wait for Advent Children) or perhaps they didn't like it when Aeris died after they leveled her up alot. The most common thing I've heard from people I know is this~I didn't like reading it. ~That just makes me mad so I won't talk about it anymore.
Again, I love this game tell me what you think.

hell yeah, well spoken. was my first RPG as well, I can't play any others, I don't have the heart for it. I did play through 8, then tried 10 and hated it. But yeah, FFVII is the best game i've ever played.

I've always loved Final Fantasy VII and it'll always have a special place in my gaming heart.

There's no apparent or specific reason as to why I love this game, I just do and that's reason enough for me.

Ah once again what can I say, no-one really hates this game. It truly is a great game, but overrated at times. Yeah great, one of the best RPGs I have played, but greatest game of all time? I mean seriously, there are a ton of good games out there.

I agree, fun times, not my first, FFI was my first, and I still love that game. You really should play them all, and that's all I'll say...

I like the materia system, fighting in this game is real slick. Plus, the limit break was a very fun innovation. It's an incentive to fight more.

Super Mario RPG was my first RPG, but yet I still love FFVII. Maybe b/c it was the first mature RPG I ever played.

I started it with the worst expectations, but after trying it again (I think I died against the two MPs) I got better at it and started to get absorbed into the story. I think renaming characters helped.

This game was my first Final Fantasy, and I think it has the best system of all the later games (the Materia system is much better than the junction system or the sphere grid system). Final Fantasy VIII is my favorite though, as I like the characters better. VII has a lot of cool characters, but VIII, while it doesn't have as many, has some really cool characters that I related to well. Still, VII will always have a special place in my heart.
My friend Delzethin is currently running a GoFundMe account to pay for some extended medical troubles he's had. He's had chronic issues and lifetime troubles that have really crippled his career opportunities, and he's trying to get enough funding to get back to a stable medical situation. If you like his content, please support his GoFundMe, or even just contribute to his Patreon.

He can really use a hand with this, and any support you can offer is appreciated.

I agree, ff7 was my first rpg also. The materia system works the best (there are no flaws), if there are i've never experienced any. And the fact that you can Master materia as many times as you want (even though there is a max limit on how many materia you can have at once) was an awesome idea. Limits were cool. Ultimate limit breaks are great, but take way too long to fill (depending on where you fight). It's nice to be able to go back and use Braver (Cloud's very first limit attack) when he's level 70 with a strength of 95 and his Ultima Weapn...yeah, nothing stands a chance. Of course...if you compare Braver to Omnislash with the same level and configuration, Braver doesn't do that much damage. Back to the topic...I loved everything about 7, especially the music. Uematsu is a genius! I've played other ffs and own Origins, 7, 8, 9, and 10, but...i hated 10 and the fact that characters didn't level up (i'll have to save my true opinions on 10 for another topic). Didn't mean to ramble on...it's just it really urks me ppl say they "hate" 7. Remember guys...7 set the standards to all the rpgs we enjoy today. They took a risk with a lot of things, some ppl loved, other ppl "hated"...but overall i would say that square did an awesome job with this game.

I loved the plot the best. It was a very strange hippy-like plot in some ways, and I loved it. The music was oh so amazing. My sister used to watch me play and a couple years back I found out why. She said, "Oh you thought I liked watching you play? No no. I was listening to the music."
Seriously the ultimate combination... A moogle riding a chocobo... what else do I have to say?

You Are CHAOS; You are the supreme evil reigning in the land. You are large, in charge, and made all-powerful through a very confusing time-loop thing. Hidden in the past, you destroy the future from within, and a single battle with you could determine the fate of the planet...

I have played every Final Fantasy, and FFVII is still undoubtedly my favorite. The story and characters were brilliant, the gameplay was well done, and Nobuo Uematsu put together some of the most memorable pieces of music I've ever heard. Final Fantasy VII was (and still is) peerless. Little more needs to be said.
