Thread: WHY! Why God WHY!??

Funny, the dragon completely disappears in the PS version, at least on my TV, but the last time I was playing on the PC using Jenova (a save hacking program) to hack my saves to see all the different dates, the EDK's feet hung, which was hilarious, and this is probably the longest sentence I've written on here.

Several people have questioned why there is no mediocrity option. The question they should be asking is "where the option for gamers so preoccupied with nostalgia and 'being different' that we failed to recognize or understand the greatness of this game?". Look, I've played every FF, and FFVII is unqestionably my favorite. That means, in my mind, it was better than FFVI, a great game nonetheless.

FFVII's story is my favorite part, of course; it was poignant, powerful, and complex. I feel that the people who criticize the story all too often are incapable of understanding all of it, especially since certain elements were left unrevealed, probably intentionally. I loved every aspect of the game, though; the music was some of Uematsu's best, the gameplay was excellent, and I actually liked the graphics.

To return to my original rant, though, it is inane at best to call FFVII 'mediocre.' That means you didn't appreciate the enormity of the game, the impact it had on society, and on the video game industry. While many people who denigrate FFVII rush to elaborate on the virtues of many RPG's which followed, remember that FFVII was the reason for the explosion of the RPG as a genre in the U.S. Further, people cared about FFVII in a way that no other video game can claim. As a matter of fact, I bet some of you still haven't given up trying to remedy certain events from the end of the first disc.

So, what your saying is, if I think FFVII is 'mediocre', as you put it, I am wrong, which means I can't have my own opinion? Because that's what I got from it. Feel free to correct me if I interpreted it wrong.
As a side note, I'd call FFVII a "good" game, about 6-7/10, based on my impression of it when it came out. Sorry I don't agree with you.
Boy am I an unfunny ass.

    Default mhmm...

The most important thing in my opinion is the music. It is genious.
And the story in Final Fantasy 7 is also very good, but more important, how the sotry is told, even if you have a very good story, it can be told in a way that makes it very boring, but I think they managed to keep the story interesting all the way to the end, and Sephiroth is the coolest evil genius ever...
