Is it really compulsary to defeat the al bheds creation in djose temple at level 5 in order to get a percentage point? coz im reall starting to get tired of digging in the bikanel desert(ive dug over a 100 times).

I think it does give u about one percent if u do it, but if u get it all to level 5 u get sum specail item for Rikku that allows her to do something with her machina maw dressphere I don't really know but I've read something about it in the strategy guide.

You have to beat it once at a lower level, then once at level 5. Took me a couple hours of digging.

It's OK. The repair things are marked with a yellow cross BTW, not a white one.
You get machine parts in bikanel desert, but you don't get repair manuals there. You get them from people around Djose.

HOW TO REPAIR WITH SOUL:
Talk to the Al-Bhed in the room on the left hand side of the stairs in the temple.
THE SPIRIT OF RECYCLING:
Speak to the Al Bhed woman on the upper floor of the Djose trials and give the password MARNELA.
ABC'S OF REPAIR:
Go to the calm land's cave ruins.
REPAIRING FOR DUMMIES
Stand in the middle of the monkeys on the right hand side of Djose temple and press X when all 3 monkeys jump in the air at the same time.
EVERY MAN'S REPAIR MANUAL
Inspect any of the machina wandering around the Mi'Ihen highroad after you defeated the experiment once in Djose Temple.
