If they made a sequel or prequel...

...to your favorite Final Fantasy games, like they did with Final Fantasy X, what would you want them to be about?

My ideas:

FFIV – I would LOVE to see a sequel (or prequel) starring Kain. Kain was the best character in FFVI and I feel there is still a lot left to develop with his character. Besides, it’s about time Square makes a Final Fantasy game with a Dragon Knight as the lead.

FFVI – I think a prequel about the Magi War would be pretty cool, with you playing as Espers. That could be really fun.

FFVII – An idea I came up with a long time ago was to have a sequel set about 20 years after FFVII starring the son of Cloud and Tifa (we’ll just call him Cloud Jr. for now) as well as Marlene. Cloud mysteriously disappeared and Cloud Jr. has reasons to believe Sephiroth is behind it (somehow, work with me here), so he sets out on a quest to find him. All of the other playable characters in FFVII would appear in this game as NPCs, helping you in various ways along your quest.

FFVIII – The only idea I have is pretty much the same one as above. Set 20 to 25 years after FFVIII, starring the son or daughter of Squall and Rinoa along with a whole new generation of SeeDs. Also, I’d have it reveled in the sequel that Spoiler I GuessRinoa IS Ultimecia.

FFIX – I think a prequel about the adventures of Tantalus could be fun. Also, a sequel or prequel about the dragoons of Burmecia starring Freya and Fratley could be really good too.

some people don't like FFX as much, but i think a prequel would be a nice addition. it could be about Auron, Braska, and Jecht's journey to defeat Sin .

Final Fantasy VIII: About what happened with Laguna etc during the time you see in the flashbacks.

Well and that's about it. I am glad with the others, so no need to do anything like a prquel or a sequel for it.

FF5: Prequel surrounding Galuf and the light warriors first battle with Ex-Death. Could also include Drogan and Stella's relationship as well as the deaths of Krile's parents.

FF6: Magi War could be neat.

FF8: Prequel of the first sorceress war with Adel, centering on Laguna's story, but also including the unknown parents of the FF8 cast, such as Zell, Seifer, and Quistis. How did they die?

FF9: Prequel about Freya and Sir Fratley would be cool.

FF10: I don't really see the Braska, Jecht, and Auron thing working because we've already seen pretty much that entire story in flashbacks in FFX if you find all of the movie spheres. What I'd like is a prequel about Lulu, dealing with her failed pilgrimages, and her relationship and the death of Wakka's brother.

A sequel to FF1 would be sweet. They'd give names to the 4 heroes in FF1 (but never reveal exactly what classes they were). The new sequel would revolve around the 4 original heroes and their sudden illness.

The world is in peace. The four heroes gathered the 4 orbs of light and conquered evil. Their story is infamous throuout the lands. 15 years pass and each of the 4 heroes gets elected leadership of separate nations of their world. Each of the four nations guards one of the orbs. Suddenly, as if out of nowhere, each of the heroes falls deathly ill simultaneously. The nations advisors hold an emergency meeting (like the U.N. or something). It also appears that the glow each of the orbs has is fading. What link do the original heroes have wth the orbs? As lead doctor, Clarke is assigned the task to determine if a cure is at all possible. Working alongside Raven, a scientist who has studied the orbs since she finished her schooling, they soon discover that it is the orbs themselves which are draining the life out of the original heroes. Armand, a once famous monster tamer back during the chaotic times, who has since fallen into obscurity comes to Clarke and Raven with startling news. The monsters that dissapeared after the final conflict 15 years ago have returned. Clarke, Raven and Armand set out for a quest to save their beloved heroes, the 4 orbs that once brought peace and to discover much more than they anticipated.

The game's world map would be identical to the one from FF1, except the world would be much larger, to scale with the original world. Magic would be purchased. In the game besides Clarke (White Mage), Raven (Black Mage) and Armand (Monk) they'd meet at least one person of every class. There would eventually be promotion like in the first as well. I'd keep the systems as true to FF1 as possible. I think its a solid idea.

I'd like a prequel to FF1. I think that the story is great, but it needs slightly more explanation, especially since most people don't have the imaginative capacity to understand it...
Anyway, it could be about the Sky Warriors and Garland, and show, sort of, how everything fell apart. It'd also explain mysteries like why the airship wound up forgotten (And still working?!) in that desert, why the floater was where it was, what the Masamune is (Maybe it used to be Garland's weapon) etc. etc. At the end, instead of defeating the end all boss, maybe their sacrifice would lead to putting all the fiends to sleep or something, and simply postponing the destruction of the world for as long as possible (Before the 200 years runs out?)

I guess I'd think that that'd be really cool.

The only ideas I've heard and liked are FFVI: War of the Magi, which could obviously be the title. And FFVIII prequel with Laguna, no idea for a title for that though. Anything else, just doesn't make much sense to me.

Prequel about Laguna's adventures from FFVIII. The rest of them satisfied enough for me, even though a Kain game wouldn't be bad either.

I have to say, I would never buy a game starring Laguna. It definately would have potential to be fun for FFVIII fans, but Laguna was such an annoying character to me that I don't think I could stomach a game with him as a central character.
