I almost totally agree with Strider. Good choices!
Johnny Depp is too old to play Locke, as a couple other people suggested, and you know he'd make a free-wheeling gambler like Setzer pretty interesting. It seemed like an especially natural fit.
Kefka should not have a British accent.Originally Posted by DJZen

I always thought Jim Carey would make a good Kefka myself.
Oh how I wish they would make a movie on FF6, I definetly would go see it.
You say you want to hear the truth? I say that you are lying! You do not want the truth. Instead you want to hear a well crafted lie mixed with half truths that you find more appealing than the real truth.
The Legend of Mythus
Jack Nicholson would be the perfect Kefka, if only he weren't too old. I don't think Johnny Depp is necessarily too old to play Locke though. And I really like Inferno's suggestion of Uma Thurman as Celes.
However, Behold the Void is entirely right.![]()
Jack Nicholson, after being the joker, would make an excellent Kefka.
depp could pull of Locke or Setzer
Emperor Ghestahl should be played by Ian Mackellen
Terra, that russian who played in Resident Evil
Celes - some hot oprah singer
Gau - Hayden Christiansen (drools)
Sabin - Brad Pitt
Edgar - Tom Cruise of course
that's all i can think of.
OOOO Robin Williams might make an interesting character somewhere, I just don't know who... with the marvels of Hollywood make-up, he could be a damn good Strago.
The only problem with Johnny Depp is that according to Flying Mullet's trusty Figaro Castle site, Locke is only 25. Hell, even Setzer is only 27, and that's where I had Depp pegged. He's 42, for the record. That's why I tried to stick with mostly younger actors, seeing as Cyan and Strago are the only two characters over 27 years of age.Originally Posted by The Man
Same thing with Celes, who's only 24. Uma Thurman is pushing 35. It kinda sucks that Final Fantasy is notorious for really young characters, but I think that if this were ever going to be translated into a movie, it'd be better off sticking with that gun.
I do agree with you on the last part, though.
The thing is, though, that neither of them really looks that old. It'd be a definite stretch for Jack Nicholson to play Kefka, since I believe he's pushing seventy, but it's not entirely unheard of for actors in their thirties to play characters in their twenties.Originally Posted by Strider
I guess I tend to favour older actors, though, 'cause they're the ones who get all the good roles, generally. ;p
How about we let FF6 stay decent, and not ruin it by making a movie on it?
Yeah, but Uma Thurman playing Celes is like Freddy Prinze Jr. playing an intelligent high school senior.Originally Posted by The Man

I think Keira Knightley would make a nice Celes.
Take my love, take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don't care, I'm still free
You can't take the sky from me
Take me out to the black
Tell them I ain't comin' back
Burn the land and boil the sea
You can't take the sky from me
There's no place I can be
Since I found Serenity
But you can't take the sky from me...
Listen to the Firefly theme.
Uma Thurman is a decent enough actor to be able to adapt nicely to any role, I think ;p
Celes is one of my favorite characters and thinking of Uma Thurman playing her really makes me cry...![]()
