That's it. But you should use Fire 2 instead of Fire and Cure 2 if you have to heal all your characters at once (e.g. after getting hit by Ultros' "Tentacle").
Relm's Sketch should end the battle immediately.
No one in my team can use Fire 2.. Stargo can use Heal 2 or Cure 2 (Gau too- but he isn't in my party, of curse), and Locke can use Bolt 2, But this is it.
SO.. I didn't undestanded how to use the Heal Rod. Anybody?

I may be wrong but it sounds like you are only saving on save points. You can also save on the world map, anywhere on the world map. Just incase you didn't realize this(BTW: the last save point I saw was after the Magitek Factory.
