Why the hell would kids be capitalised? It's a pronoun.
This is not a book, nor is it a political party. Common convention for capitilizing a thread title is to treat it like a normal sentence. Newspaper headlines are the same way.
I asked Pete Townsend and he said the kids are alright.

Oh, and kids is a plural noun. Not that it matters.
