I recommend Street Fighter II, Gundam Wing, and (if you don't mind seeing large female breasts about 40 percent of the time) Fatal Fury: The Hungry Wolf and Fatal Fury: the Motion Picture.
Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny.
Fist of the North Star- the film is good; but i just got my hands on the box set of the series for about £40, AMAZING!!

Here 'goes
-Evangelion is good, but had a terrible ending.
-Rurouni Kenshin kicks ass, but the mangas better, as good as the anime is.
-Pet shop of horrors looks good, but I've never actually seen it.
-Tokyo Babylon kicks ass(the manga)
-And anything else by the name of "Clamp".
Okay my personal favorites are these-
King of Bandit Jing- greatest series ever, about a boy who can steal anything; even the stars from the sky
Rurouni Kenshin- Great story and very realistic- Saito Hajime was actually a real person, I just found out.
Trigun- Deep space future gun action. Great stuff.
Evangelion- Like they said. I found it hard to get into in the first Manga, but afterwards I loved it. Another great manga is Inuyasha. It gets kinda confusing later on in the series, but I liked it overall.
