Anime Newcomer. Help me!

Does anyone here like anime, or am I the only one? (joke)

Anyway, I'm kind of starting to get into anime and have seen a few anime movies already. I have seen:

Akira
Ghost in the Shell
Ninja Scroll
Perfect Blue
Spirited Away
Memories

I really like what I have watched so far. Perfect Blue in particular blew my socks off. I thought it was incredible and is the best movie (anime or live action) that I have seen in ages. But I have enjoyed each of these animes a lot and want to get more!

Problem is, I don't really know what to get. I figured that there are probably some anime buffs here so I was kinda hoping that you could recommend your personal favourites to me. I've kinda got an eye on the Neon Genesis Evangelion Perfect Collection as I've heard so many great things about the series. Just how good is it really?

So, please recommend some good anime to me!

Evangelion is easily one of the best anime series ever made, and also the most complex. Everytime I watch the series I figure out something new.

I wont go into too many details, and I wont list much newer stuff since I dont watch all that much new anime. And while I'm at it, pick up the Akira manga. The anime is a pile of crap compared to the manga.

Now about your question concerning Evangelion,there are many people who love it and consider it the best anime of all times(including me)but there are also many who hate it and believe it is crap,what i can tell you is that Eva is not for everyone but if you liked Perfect Blue(orthe game Xenogears)you will probably like it

---Millennium Actress. It's from the director who made Perfect Blue, it that helps at all. In my opinion, it's genius. Although I was crying, horribly, about halfway through to the end.

From reading your posts I think I will try Neon Genesis Evangelion as I think it sounds great. Only problem is the price tag though! After that, I think I will try Millennium Actress as I loved Perfect Blue so much and that's made by the same guy. And then perhaps Princess Mononoke.

If I may ask about some things:

What's this like? I ask because it's one of my favourite games ever as you can tell from my screenname. Does it feature all the characters from the game?

Whats Cowboy Bebop about? Cowboys!???

It features all characters and the OVA starts off after the time warp and they go back to Midgard.

Cowboy Bebop is kinda old but its about space bounty hunters.
