Not even _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ deserves to be bangled at the end of the game although this person is worst than Seifer.
Flo:Honey, the clock is late.Go out fix it.
    Mayor Dobe:What hours is it?
    Flo: 15:30
Mayor Dobe:Hey do you wanna to send the Estharians to Centra or what?
    Flo:Ok,let it be on 3:45

If something is too far fetched to be understood, it probably isn't true.

I DO WHAT I WANT. YOU HAVE PROBLEM?

Wha...? I meant that I didn't understand why Cid would give Seifer any authority over other students if he already had a problem with being a bully.

If a little kid at school is beating up, bossing around and intimidating other kids, how would it help solve any problems if you basically make it his JOB to do those things? (Well, except for the beating up part. But hey, you never know... )

I just don't think that it is an effective way to deal with his problem. He has too big of an ego, so give him something that will cut it down a little, not inflate it.

It is an effective way if you have someone watching the disciplinary committee. Holding Seifer to a responsibility could theoretically help him mature.

Note that I am not commenting as to my thoughts on the matter of the disciplinary committee itself, I'm just pointing out a way that giving Seifer the position could improve his behavior, much more than doing something to "cut him down" would, since he would just rebel and get even worse if you did. Feed his ego. "Seifer, you're such an outstanding student that you're put in charge of the disciplinary committee..." That has a better chance of getting him to improve, since it would appeal to his vanity and make him try to do well to prove that he was right for the job and that he should be trusted with more such responsibilities, etc...
My friend Delzethin is currently running a GoFundMe account to pay for some extended medical troubles he's had. He's had chronic issues and lifetime troubles that have really crippled his career opportunities, and he's trying to get enough funding to get back to a stable medical situation. If you like his content, please support his GoFundMe, or even just contribute to his Patreon.

He can really use a hand with this, and any support you can offer is appreciated.

Hmmm... I see how that could work. But to me, the Disciplinary Committee seems to be unmonitored. I guess it would depend on the individual situation. In a military situation though, I don't think this would work very well, but considering how inside of Balamb Garden, the atmosphere isn't extremely military-like, and more school-like, it's easy to see how it could apply.

But also, when I look at how Seifer acts as the leader of the DC, and then look at how he acts as leader of a squad, it seems his position was detrimental to his leadership abilities and didn't really give him a chance to develop them. (Putting two people who listen to his every whim with little question, under his commmand, doesn't exactly help him develop responsibility or let him learn anything about leading people. It just let's him enjoy bossing other's around, friends or not. He doesn't get to learn how to earn the respect of his subordinates.)

I really do see your point at giving him a responsibilty, I just think how the responsibility ended up playing out for him didn't help him as much in the end. He'd get too used to doing whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted, leaving him with little regard for what is necessary for him to get the job done. So instead he would act on impulse all the time.

After reading this thread (and a few others) though, I'm starting to see Seifer in a different light. He seemes like a very human character, even when compared to the likes of Squall, and all the other characters. Sure, he's a bit of a hot-head and a bully, but he's not one-dimensional or ever entirely evil either. I used to think not much of him as a character, but he seems to have a true depth if one looks.

I imagine that the disciplinary comitee is much like a school club. I would imagine that anyone could join the comitee. Seifer probably just made his way to the top of the ranks.
