Seifer in DICIPLINARY WTF!!

Does anyone besides me wonder How the hell Seifer got the job of "Diciplinary"? I mean did tey know who he was when he got this title?

I guess it was just an unpopular job in general except for power hungry bullies.

I kind of figured it was more of a negative nickname term than an actual title. Kinda like, those three are always being disciplined for something- in school the druggie click weren't in CHARGE of the drugs- they were just in trouble because of them. We never hear *any* reference of it outside of that once.
I dunno, that's something I'd want to ask someone who knows the game in the original language- bad translations are a ROYAL pain in the older FF games- there were some gems in Chrono Trigger and Legend of Dragoon as well. I've gotten used to just going by 'instinct' and not immediately trusting the writting.

I thought it was a self-proclaimed title in that they "volunteered" to keep the younger students in line and make sure they follow the rules "or else." I see it as an upperclassmen type thing - like seniors making sure the freshmen stay in line. That kind of thing happens all the time, and usually the seniors who bug freshmen the most are the ones who aren't well behaved themselves.

Seifer's a strong leader with a commanding presence; he's probably a good student too - just very erratic in battle situations. A good choice for leader of the disciplinary committee, but not as a precise and dependable soldier.

Well, Seifer is just a big Pain in the a** most of the time. But if you watch him carefully, he sees Squall as his rival, and respects him for what he is. However, he always loved to fight for a certain goal (eg. Rinoa), i guess he just loves the idea of Instant Respect he gets from his postition. Even if he was an idiot most of the game, notice how he keeps beliving in his dream (to be the Sorceresses Knight), even though he failed repeatedlly. Anyway, alongside Squall, he was the best gunblade specialist in the Garden, so i guess that's one of the reasons he was in the comitee.

he got that job cause all seifer knows is fighting and he hardly passes any of the tests so the school gave him something to do basically

This is pretty much what I thought of it. Even if Cid seemed to have a soft spot for Seifer, I don't think he would give him this kind of authority or position among the other students.

I agree with Shiva. Though I might think that since no one want to have a job as diciplinary committee like the garden festival thing, Seifer voluntarily took the position.

there are things I can´t explain because they are too farfetched to be understand.Much more far fetched than my usual theories.
An example of this is:this reply,the person who possess Ultimecia/Edea,the meaning of WOTC(well organized time compression),the Seed family theory(I had already explained that),etc....
I know many didn´t agree with most of my less farfetched theories,so of course i will not post the most farfetched.I just use the less to give hints to the most.

I think Seifer got the job cause Cid wanted to give him some responsibility.
Then he might have stooped being a bully and instead started to live up to the rules of Balamb and grow up. And lets face it, Seifer isn't all bad, he's just damn stubborn and egoistic but still he got some potential.
