    Default Xenogears...worth it?

I started Xenogears a few years ago. I didn't get very far before I got bored and quit. My question is...is it worth it to stick it out through those insanely boring parts that are scattered throughout the beginning?

I personally believe that the boring parts are near the end. I mean, it travels too insanely fast for people to follow. You seriously gotta breathe and read everything and try to slow down the story as fast as possible. Heck, you stop traveling on the map, for chrissakes. A good part of a story is tying in the location with a story. When you don't know where you are, jumping from scene to scene, it kind of breaks it up. Do you know what I mean?

Not really, since I never made it near the end. Dummy.

Pretty much everything on the continent of Ignas is a really long exposition. It's interesting, but the story doesn't really pick up until you leave.

I agree with Genius that the boring parts are near the end, not the beginning. If I wanted to see people in a rocking chair I'd go visit my grandma.

So if I was bored in the beginning, I wouldn't exactly have much to look forward to, eh?

I agree, the beginning is really boring. But I guess the ending made up for it.

I just beat it today, and let me tell you it is more than worth it. It's one of, if not the best game ever made. The boring parts kinda suck (stalactite cave comes to mind here...), but they are easy to get over.

I say stick it out, the story is worth it in the end. It's one of the greatest stories for a game ever.

Rubedo: This game is definetly worth it. Barely any flaws, except for the tone down in action on the second disc- still no biggie

Trowa: It is still a very good game. *Sits and stares and sits and stares*

isn't the second disc just like one big dungeon they threw together to end the game?

Not exactly...it turns into a virtual novel with some minidungeons...but the story is so brilliant that its fine by most.

Xenogears is very text heavy, so if your adverse to reading you may want to avoid it. However for all its flaws the brilliant story, makes this game definetly worth playing.
