20 mbps is approximately T3 line speed. Standard aDSL or a T1 is a theoretical cap of 1.544 mbps, although with Bell we somehow manage to get 3008 kbps (3 mbps) and even 4 mbps for Ultra customers. The Americans have a new fibre-optic technology that allows 5-15 mbps connections, but it's only available in Texas (Verizon, I think)

A 20 mbps connection should run you about $18,000 per month.
